If you’re anything like me, you think new years resolutions are stupid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u548c\u6211\u4e00\u6837\uff0c\u4f60\u5927\u6982\u4e5f\u89c9\u5f97\u65b0\u5e74\u51b3\u5fc3\uff08New Year’s Resolutions\uff09\u662f\u4ef6\u611a\u8822\u7684\u4e8b\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because most people go about changing their lives in the completely wrong way. They create these resolutions because everyone else does \u2013 we create a superficial meaning out of status games \u2013 but they don\u2019t meet the requirements for true change, which goes a lot deeper than convincing yourself you\u2019re going to be more disciplined or productive this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u56e0\u4e3a\u5927\u591a\u6570\u4eba\u8bd5\u56fe\u6539\u53d8\u751f\u6d3b\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\u5b8c\u5168\u9519\u4e86\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u8bbe\u7acb\u8fd9\u4e9b\u76ee\u6807\u53ea\u662f\u56e0\u4e3a\u522b\u4eba\u90fd\u8fd9\u4e48\u505a\u2014\u2014\u6211\u4eec\u4ece\u5730\u4f4d\u6e38\u620f\u4e2d\u5236\u9020\u51fa\u4e00\u79cd\u80a4\u6d45\u7684\u610f\u4e49\u2014\u2014\u4f46\u8fd9\u4e9b\u505a\u6cd5\u5e76\u4e0d\u7b26\u5408\u771f\u6b63\u6539\u53d8\u7684\u8981\u6c42\uff0c\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u6539\u53d8\u8fdc\u6bd4\u201c\u8bf4\u670d\u81ea\u5df1\u4eca\u5e74\u8981\u66f4\u81ea\u5f8b\u6216\u66f4\u9ad8\u6548\u201d\u6765\u5f97\u6df1\u523b\u5f97\u591a\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re one of these people, I’m not here to talk down on you (I tend to be a bit harsh in my writing). I\u2019ve quit 10x more goals than I\u2019ve achieved. I think that should be the case for most people. But the fact that people try to change their lives and utterly fail almost every time holds true.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u6b63\u662f\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u6211\u5e76\u975e\u8981\u5c45\u9ad8\u4e34\u4e0b\u5730\u6279\u8bc4\u4f60\uff08\u867d\u7136\u6211\u7684\u6587\u5b57\u901a\u5e38\u6709\u4e9b\u5c16\u9510\uff09\u3002\u6211\u81ea\u5df1\u653e\u5f03\u7684\u76ee\u6807\uff0c\u6bd4\u5b9e\u73b0\u7684\u591a\u4e86\u5341\u500d\u4e0d\u6b62\u3002\u6211\u60f3\u8fd9\u5bf9\u5927\u591a\u6570\u4eba\u6765\u8bf4\u90fd\u6210\u7acb\u3002\u4f46\u4e00\u4e2a\u4e0d\u4e89\u7684\u4e8b\u5b9e\u662f\uff1a\u4eba\u4eec\u4e00\u6b21\u6b21\u5c1d\u8bd5\u6539\u53d8\u4eba\u751f\uff0c\u5374\u51e0\u4e4e\u6bcf\u6b21\u90fd\u5f7b\u5e95\u5931\u8d25\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, as much as I think new years resolutions are stupid, it\u2019s always wise to reflect on the life you hate so you can launch yourself toward something that much better, as we will discuss.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Think of somebody successful. It can be a bodybuilder with a great physique, a founder\/CEO worth hundreds of millions, or a charismatic dude who can chat up a group without a shred of anxiety entering his mind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u60f3\u8c61\u4e00\u4f4d\u6210\u529f\u4eba\u58eb\uff1a\u53ef\u80fd\u662f\u62e5\u6709\u5b8c\u7f8e\u4f53\u683c\u7684\u5065\u7f8e\u8fd0\u52a8\u5458\uff0c\u8eab\u4ef7\u6570\u4ebf\u7684\u521b\u59cb\u4eba\/CEO\uff0c\u6216\u662f\u80fd\u5728\u4eba\u7fa4\u4e2d\u8c08\u7b11\u98ce\u751f\u3001\u6beb\u65e0\u7126\u8651\u7684\u8ff7\u4eba\u89d2\u8272\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you think the bodybuilder has to \u201cgrind\u201d to eat healthy? Does the CEO have to discipline themselves to show up and lead the team? To you, it may seem like that on the surface, but the truth is that they can\u2019t see themselves living any other way.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The bodybuilder has to grind to eat unhealthily. The CEO has to force themself to lie in bed past their alarm clock, and they hate every second of it (there is nuance here, just entertain me for a second).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u5bf9\u5065\u7f8e\u8005\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u53cd\u800c\u662f\u5403\u5783\u573e\u98df\u54c1\u624d\u9700\u8981\u201c\u786c\u625b\u201d\uff1b\u5bf9CEO\u6765\u8bf4\uff0c\u8d56\u5e8a\u4e0d\u8d77\u624d\u662f\u75db\u82e6\u714e\u71ac\uff08\u6b64\u5904\u7565\u6709\u5938\u5f20\uff0c\u8bf7\u6682\u4e14\u5bb9\u6211\u53d1\u6325\u4e00\u4e0b\uff09\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To some people, my own lifestyle seems a bit extreme and disciplined. To me, it\u2019s natural, and I don\u2019t say that to contrast it with any other kind of lifestyle. I simply enjoy living this way.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This next sentence may sound simple, but it is baffling how many people don’t get it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

If you want a specific outcome in life, you must have the lifestyle that creates that outcome long before you reach it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u60f3\u83b7\u5f97\u67d0\u79cd\u7279\u5b9a\u7684\u4eba\u751f\u7ed3\u679c\uff0c\u5c31\u5fc5\u987b\u5728\u771f\u6b63\u8fbe\u6210\u4e4b\u524d\uff0c\u65e9\u5df2\u8fc7\u4e0a\u80fd\u50ac\u751f\u8fd9\u4e00\u7ed3\u679c\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u65b9\u5f0f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If someone says they want to lose 30 pounds, I often don\u2019t believe them. Not because I don\u2019t think they are capable, but because there are too many times when that same person says, \u201cI can\u2019t wait until I’m done losing weight so I can start to enjoy life again.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u82e5\u6709\u4eba\u8bf4\u60f3\u51cf\u638930\u78c5\uff0c\u6211\u5e38\u5e38\u4e0d\u4fe1\u3002\u4e0d\u662f\u6211\u4e0d\u76f8\u4fe1\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u80fd\u529b\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u592a\u591a\u65f6\u5019\u4ed6\u4eec\u4f1a\u8bf4\uff1a\u201c\u7b49\u6211\u7626\u4e0b\u6765\uff0c\u5c31\u53ef\u4ee5\u91cd\u65b0\u4eab\u53d7\u751f\u6d3b\u4e86\u3002\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hate to break it to you, but if you don\u2019t adopt the lifestyle that led to you losing the weight, for life, and find a reason with a higher gravitational pull than the one tying you to your previous ways, then you will go straight back to where you started, and you can unhappily say that you wasted the resource you will never get back: time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u62b1\u6b49\u76f4\u8a00\uff1a\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u6ca1\u6709\u7ec8\u8eab\u8df5\u884c\u4fc3\u6210\u51cf\u91cd\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u65b9\u5f0f\uff0c\u4e5f\u6ca1\u6709\u627e\u5230\u4e00\u4e2a\u6bd4\u65e7\u4e60\u60ef\u66f4\u5177\u5438\u5f15\u529b\u7684\u65b0\u7406\u7531\uff0c\u90a3\u4f60\u7ec8\u5c06\u56de\u5230\u8d77\u70b9\u2014\u2014\u5c4a\u65f6\u4f60\u53ea\u80fd\u65e0\u5948\u5730\u8bf4\uff1a\u6211\u628a\u518d\u4e5f\u65e0\u6cd5\u633d\u56de\u7684\u8d44\u6e90\u2014\u2014\u65f6\u95f4\u2014\u2014\u767d\u767d\u6d6a\u8d39\u4e86\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you truly change yourself, all of your habits that don\u2019t move the needle toward your goal become disgusting, because you have a deep and profound awareness of what kind of life those actions compound into.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u5f53\u4f60\u771f\u6b63\u8f6c\u53d8\u81ea\u6211\u65f6\uff0c\u6240\u6709\u65e0\u52a9\u4e8e\u76ee\u6807\u7684\u4e60\u60ef\u90fd\u4f1a\u53d8\u5f97\u4ee4\u4eba\u538c\u6076\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u4f60\u5df2\u6df1\u523b\u610f\u8bc6\u5230\uff1a\u8fd9\u4e9b\u884c\u4e3a\u7ec8\u5c06\u7d2f\u79ef\u6210\u4f55\u7b49\u4eba\u751f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are okay with your current standards because you are not fully aware of what they are or what they lead to. We will discuss how to uncover this, but we need to build up to that.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

You say you want to change. You say you want to \u201cbecome financially free\u201d and \u201cget healthy,\u201d but your actions show otherwise for a reason. And it goes a lot deeper than you think.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I mean changing your point of view. Because that\u2019s what a goal is. A goal is a projection into the future that acts as a lens of perception which allows you to notice information, ideas, and resources that aid in you achieving that goal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

But your parents have also gone through this process throughout their entire lives. That\u2019s where it can get dangerous. Your parents, unless they broke the pattern themselves, were conditioned by the culturally accepted ideas of success from the Industrial age. They also carry the best and worst conditioning from their parents and their parents\u2019 parents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

You may not try to protect and reproduce your body, but you absolutely protect and reproduce your mind.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Since most people don\u2019t analyze their emotions for truth, you tend to get stuck in echo chambers and double down on claims that harm yourself and others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

For most people reading this, I would assume you hover between 4 and 8, which is a huge gap. Those closer to 8 are reading this are doing so to either learn something or pass time in a non-destructive way. Those closer to 4 are really looking for a change. With that said, I want to focus on what intelligence is in the context of these two other ingredients and this letter.
